The Southern Fruit Festival 2007, an annual event organized by the Tourism Department of Ho Chi Minh City that aims to promote local fruits, will take place in Suoi Tien Park from June 1 to 19, 2007.

This year festival will be organized on a larger scale, and include such activities as fruit processions, fruit carnivals, fruit fairs, fruit exhibitions, a food and drink week, art performances and folk games.

In order to create an atmosphere of diversity, the show will not only feature fruits from across Vietnam but neighboring countries as well.

Visitors will have a chance to enjoy a wide variety of trademark fruits including Long Khanh and Cai Be rambutans, Cai Mon mangosteens and durians, Hoa Loc sweet mangos, Nam Roi grapefruits, Binh Thuan dragon fruits, Luc Ngan litchis, Hung Yen longans and others.

The festival is also an opportunity for people to meet, exchange ideas about new seedlings, learn about new kinds of fruits and enjoy fruit sculptures created by skilful artisans.

The event is co-organized by the Tourism Department of Ho Chi Minh City and the Agriculture and Rural Development Service.
