Annual kite competition to begin in Hoi An next month

The Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa, on the outskirts of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed ancient port in central Vietnam, is sponsoring its fourth annual œKite Competition on May 31.

As many as 130 participants from Hoi An provincial city, Da Nang City and other areas are expected to participate in the colorful competition, the organizers said. 

 

The event, which starts at 1p.m., attracts tourists from the Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort and Spa and the other nearby resorts.

 

The first prize is VND6 million (US$380), with two second prizes of VND3 million ($185), three third prizes of VND2 million ($130), two œImpression and Unique awards of VND1.5 million ($92) with four other

 

This amazing dragon kite was an entrant in last year contest entrants granted encouragements of VND1 million ($62), the organizer announced the event promoting local tourism and culture will be staged in cooperation with Hoi An Sports and Culture Department and Tourism & Commercial Department.
